On the way to the Mirador Shannon had had plenty of time to work himself up from a simmering anger to a full on hurricane. The tension around him hummed, like lightning on water, except this storm wasn't safely on the horizon. It was quickly approaching Felix's front door. No one who passed Shannon thought to utter a word as he walked to his lover's apartment. Yet, when he stood in front of the door and knocked, his expression smoothed and when the door opened his smile was almost seductive.

"Felix," he purred, placing a hand on the man's chest and pushing forward. "May I come in?"

Felix closed his eyes with a throaty moan, surrendering himself willingly to Shannon's power. He forgot about keeping quiet, abandoned his usual focus on Shannon's pleasure before his own. Felix collapsed forward, only barely having enough control over his body to lift himself up and disengage their bodies before he sank bonelessly onto the bed, half draped over Shannon and half at his side. He was hot and damp and sticking everywhere his skin touched Shannon's, but he didn't care.

"Stay," Felix answered, equally soft, both a request and a confirmation. Through veiling lashes, he watched Shannon's face, the light in his eyes. He might have been bothered with Felix for this turn-about in their usual roles -- swift where Shanno preferred to tease and play, demanding when he was usually accepting -- but he did not seem so. Instead, Shannon seemed deeply content. More than that... the word that came to his muzzy mind was besotted. "Am I forgiven?"

Shannon took a deep, slow breath. "Yes," he said, "but you must straighten things out with Alcuin." That would be punishment enough for Felix. "And I would prefer it if misunderstandings like this did not happen again." He wasn't going to demand Felix tell the truth. He didn't want to spoil the moment with an argument. But he didn't like the thought of Felix hiding their relationship and that is what the incident with Alcuin had felt like.

Felix listened, distracted with the way Shannon's mouth formed his words. He trailed two fingertips across Shannon's lips once he'd finished speaking, finding them soft and tender. "You know that Alcuin is in love with Hannibal Lecter," he reminded. "As do I. You have nothing to worry about on that front, you know."

"I'm not," Shannon said. Of all the emotions that swirled through him when he thought of Felix sleeping with another, the worry that Alcuin would want to take Felix away was not one of them. Shannon wouldn't allow anyone to take Felix away from him.

Felix, on the other hand, could decide to leave, and that terrified him.

He slid an arm over Felix's waist. "Is there any front I should be worrying on?" he asked, wryly.

"No," answered Felix, quiet, but truthful. His hand rested lightly on Shannon's cheek.There was no one he could choose over Shannon, not permanently. He just didn't know how to be with him, every day and through everything, the way they had been, when only a portion of his secrets lay uncovered. "But I've never known you to worry over anything."

"I never thought I had cause," Shannon said. "Are you worried?" It felt like a silly question once he'd voiced it, but he left it for Felix to answer if he wished.

"If you fall in love with someone else, I have only myself to blame," Felix answered. "But, no. I'm not worried."

He needn't be. Falling in love with someone else seemed impossible to Shannon.

Shannon took a deep breath, savoring the feel of his lover lying against him. He wrapped an arm around Felix's back, keeping him close. This was how he wanted to fall asleep every night, not alone in an empty bed.
