The darkness was Felix's preference; they knew one another well enough to dispense with the lights, even if the room, the bed, the sheets they shared were still new. He could find Shannon in the dark, a familiar shape in the faintness of the city's faint light creeping beneath the drawn curtains. His fingers sought the tie around Shannon's throat, loosening the knot before slipping it off entirely, and then quickly falling to the buttons of his shirt. Breathless, his pulse quick beneath the tender skin of his throat, Felix tipped back his head, gasping his lover's name into the dark.
